Gilroy and Morgan Hill residents: We support any youth ages 16 to 24.
Other Santa Clara County residents: We only support current and former foster youth ages 14 to 26.


TeenForce is a non-profit staffing agency that specializes in preparing teens and young adults (ages 14-26) for internships, as well as entry level, part-time, full-time and temporary jobs. TeenForce’s mission is to help foster youth acquire the skills, habits, and work experience to fulfill their potential. Our approach is patterned after the for-profit staffing industry, where we match employers with eager job seekers. No experience is necessary.

Job Description
  • Will process donated house-wares, books, toys, jewelry, shoes and decorator items for sale. This is done through pre-sorting, sorting, grading, cleaning, hanging and packaging.
  • Pre-sorts items according to predetermined classification or criteria.
  • Identifies items that are saleable in the store.
  • Removes surface dirt from glassware and small wares placing items which are not complete and/or broken into containers for the As-Is or trash.
  • Puts saleable clothes on to hangers.
  • Prices product using pre-determined guidelines.
  • Works with clients who are assigned for vocational services as requested.
  • Follows and enforces all company procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
 
Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) required.
  • Ability to understand English.
  • Ability to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to work flow.
  • Ability to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workers.
  • Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to quickly manipulate and handle items.
  • Ability to examine items and visually differentiating between them based on quality standards.
  • Ability to meet and maintain established standards.
 
Schedule and hours
  •   This is a part time position. Schedule will be determined by the needs of the site.
